    Join us for a “Lunch & Learn” on Hepatitis C at PACE Society. We will be breaking down stigma with our partners from HEP C BC, an organization providing education, prevention and support to those people living with Hepatitis C. PACE Society promotes safer working conditions for sex workers by reducing harm and isolation through education and support.

    We will also be joined by the Vancouver Infectious Diseases Clinic. They will be available to provide testing, pre and post-test counselling, and referrals to Hepatitis C care. Peer Health Navigators from HEP C BC will also be on hand to assist with next steps.

    Please RSVP as limited space is available.

    PACE Society is wheelchair accessible and has a gender neutral washroom.

    We invite women who access organizations in the Fraser Health North Region (New View Society, Tri-Cities Mental Health, 3030 Gordon, Trinity United, etc.) and others to come get their nails, hair or photo done. Enjoy a meal and activities in the company of other awesome women.

    The Health Van will harm reduction supplies, free Naloxone kits and "Quick and Dirty" Naloxone training to teach you how to reverse an opioid overdose.

    Public Health Nurses will provide anonymous rapid HIV testing, as well as HCV and STI testing. .

    HepCBC was invited to give out hepatitis B & C information in English and Chinese at this regular Thursday evening free dinner (DINNER starts 5:30!!) and social for local community.

    We will have an info booth which includes Mandarin and Cantonese interpreters. We will be reaching out to leaders and members of the Chinese community about the importance of testing and the promise of treatment for both these diseases which have particular impact on their community.

    Selkirk College nursing students in CASTLEGAR are hosting an intense half-day workshop and luncheon for medical staff, faculty, students, and the public on March 20 from 8 am to 1pm.

    Topic: HEPATITIS C. There will be a HepC 101-type intro to hepatitis C and the new cures.

    Guests will include:

    • Visitors from HepCBC Hepatitis C Education & Prevention Society who will present a short film and a patient panel, sharing personal experiences with hepatitis C and both the older and newer treatments.
    • ANKORS will present about the local hepatitis C landscape and services available for HCV+ people and their families in the Kootenays.
    • Nursing students will reflect on the problems of Hep C stigma and what the medical profession can do about it.
